Disasters and The Cloud

The unmitigated historic flooding of Hurricane Harvey is an unpleasant reminder of the impact of natural disasters on businesses. While it may not always be possible to protect our physical assets from mother nature, a business can and must protect its intellectual assets.

Famous outages at Amazon, Rackspace and others demonstrate that disasters can come from both mother nature and human error. Fortunately, businesses now have a way to mitigate these risks with a multi-cloud strategy.

A multi-cloud strategy enables an enterprise to support it’s IT operations in two clouds. Think Azure and AWS, Google and IBM, Oracle and Ormuco, Digital Ocean and Rackspace.

But the key to this is having a multi-cloud data fabric that supports your enterprise data, the intellectual fabric of of a business, so that it is available simultaneously in two or more public clouds.
